From it’s inception, the F-16, a highly agile short-range strike fighter, earned a badass reputation in fighter pilot circles and was unofficially christened "The Viper."  The Air Force hated the name, but it was too late - whatever the Brass decided to officially call it, the F-16 would forever be known by its deadly reptilian moniker.
